Lots of changes

Well, not that much has changed. I moved from Lancaster to Akron, PA back in April (on April Fool's Day no less!). So I've been busy settling into a new home. Anyway, I haven't been drawing comics lately, what with moving and my changing interests. So I've decided to MOVE to a new blog page. Don't worry fans! Tommy's coming with me.

The new blog is called "the Frank Diddly Cartoon Studio". The address is http://frankdiddly.blogspot.com/

The new blog will still have Tommy and include other content by myself (including animation!)as well. The change came about because of my changing interests, and also due to the fact that there is another unrelated blog by the name of http://tommyrobot.blogspot.com/
It's an unintentional coincidence, but one that always bothered me. In fact, since I first drew Tommy back in September 2003, I discovered to my own amusement that several other "Tommy Robots" which include: a Japanese toy, 2 real-life robots (how cool!), and an online children's novel. I figure if there is a copyright issue, there are may parties laying claim to the name. It would be probably be a long and complicated legal battle which would take forever to resolve anyway so I don't intend to stop using my Tommy. My Tommy can peacefully coexist with the other Tommys.

But if the lawyers come knocking, I'll just change the character's name to something else. Hmm... "Robbie" is a nice name for a robot!

Thanks for your time. See ya at the STUDIO!!!

Make your own tshirt!

So far this is my only Tommy Robot t-shirt. Feel free to print this out on an iron-on transfer. That's what I did.
BTW, if you don't already know, this is my homage to Robert Crumb's Zap Comix #0. Yeah, I'm a Crumb fan.

Tommy seeks purpose for his existence

Oh, brother! It's funny that I once said I would never do a superhero comic. But if you think about it, Tommy really does have super powers. The whole trick of it is to have him do something heroic. I believe ordinary people do herioc things everyday, but sadly this goes unnoticed. We're all so focused on ourselves to even care.

Here's Tommy in color!

Yes, it's Tommy Robot as "Steamboat Willie". My boy is the Mickey Mouse of the 21st century!
This is from my notorious "First Friday Funnies". I'm not publishing that any more. It cost me too much money. I can do the same thing on the internet for free.
Anyway, if you don't already know, you can click on the picture above to see a full-sized version. Feel free to print it out if you like. This makes a neat poster! It's a little gift from me and Tommy to you.

Tommy's blog!

Hi everyone! I'm Ron Good, creator of Tommy Robot. Tommy's a neat little guy, and I've drawn lots of comics about him over the past three years. This one is the first in a series of daily comic strips I submitted to the big syndicates. Sadly, they all rejected Tommy. Their loss. So I'm bringing you Tommy Robot right here! And since Tommy is the cartoon character of the future, it's appropriate to present him in the medium of the future! Thank you all for taking an interest in Tommy, and I hope you enjoy this and all that is to come.
